Macy's Star Rewards FAQ
  • If you don’t have an online account:

    Go to macys.com/mystarrewards and choose: Create an account

    1. Create an account by filling in the information requested
    2. Add your Star Rewards membership by selecting the Already a member? option and answering the questions that appear:
    • If you have a Macy's Card, you'll need to add your Macy's Credit Card or Macy's American Express® Card information to your Macy's Account
    • If you are a Bronze member, you will need to enter the phone number and birthday associated with your membership

    If you have an online account:

    1. Go to macys.com/mystarrewards and log in with your email and password
    2. Add your Star Rewards membership by selecting the Already a member? option and answering the questions that appear:
    • If you have a Macy's Card, you'll need to add your Macy's Credit Card or Macy's American Express® Card information to your Account.
    • If you are a Bronze member, you will need to enter the phone number and birthday associated with your membership

  • Earning Your Points

    • Star Reward members earn points when they shop at Macy’s, macys.com, and Macy’s Backstage (except on Gift Cards, services & fees). Members also earn extra points during Star Money Bonus Days on top of the rewards earned every day when shopping with a Macy’s Bronze membership or Macy’s Credit Card.
    • Once 1,000 points are accumulated, you will receive $10 in Star Money, which can be redeemed any way you want (except Gift Cards, services & fees). You can track your points at macys.com/mystarrewards (to view your points, you must create an account and add your Star Rewards membership to your Wallet). Star Money is valid for 30 days.

    Receiving Your Points

    • When shopping in-store at Macy's and Macy's Backstage, points will be issued immediately after your purchase is complete. For macys.com orders, phone orders (placed via Customer Service), or items shipped to you from a different Macy’s location when shopping at a Macy's store, your points will be issued when the order ships.
    • If you purchase an item during pre-sale, your points will be issued once the purchase is final. For purchases of any item that will be delivered (i.e. furniture, mattresses, etc.), your points will be issued when the order is delivered and accepted.
    • Once you earn enough points to receive $10 in Star Money, you will be notified by email (if you are signed up to receive emails from Macy’s). If shopping in-store, you will receive a notice printed on your Macy's receipt. Star Money will also automatically appear in your macys.com Wallet.

    • Star Money can be used immediately after it is issued. It is valid for 30 days after issuance.

    • The Star Rewards program consists of four different loyalty statuses: Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum.
    • If you do not have a Macy's Credit Card, then you are eligible for Bronze status. For Macy's Credit Cardholders, new Cards are opened with Silver status. Cardholder Status is based on your annual Macy’s Credit Card purchases at Macy’s.

    Upgrading to the next status

    • Macy's Star Rewards program is available to everyone even without a Macy's Credit card; non-cardholders will be Bronze status. To attain Silver status, open a Macy's Credit Card (subject to credit approval). All new Macy's credit card holders are provided at Silver status.
    • To attain Gold status, spend between $500-$1,199 at Macy's with your Macy's Credit Card in a calendar year. To upgrade to Platinum status, spend $1,200 or more at Macy's with your Macy's Credit Card. You will automatically upgrade to Gold or Platinum 7 days after meeting the purchase requirement, assuming your returns do not bring you below the qualifying purchase requirement.
    • Once you have upgraded, you will maintain status (unless you advance to a higher status) for the remainder of the current year. On January 1st of each year, we will review your purchase history at Macy’s on your Macy’s Credit Card to determine your initial status for the new calendar year.

    Cardholder Star Rewards

    Status is based on the below net qualifying purchase amounts at Macy's on your Macy's Credit Card within a calendar year

    • Bronze Status: Free for All Members
    • Silver Status: $1.00 - $499.99
    • Gold Status: $500.00 - $1,199.99
    • Platinum Status: $1,200.00 +

    • You can easily check your Star Rewards points and how close you are to your next Star Money reward at macys.com/mystarrewards.
    • To track your points, you must create an Account and add your Star Rewards Bronze membership or your Macy’s Credit Card to your Wallet.
    • Star Rewards - Yes, your points expire if your Macy’s Credit Card is closed or you don't make a qualifying purchase for 12 consecutive months on your Macy's Credit Card or with your Star Rewards membership.

    • Star Money - Yes, Star Money will expire 30 days after it is issued. You can check the expiration date of your Star Money rewards at macys.com/mystarrewards or when you check out with your Macy's Credit Card. Once your Star Money expires, it will automatically disappear from your Wallet.

    • When you return a purchase, the points earned on that item will be removed from your outstanding points balance.
    • If you do not have sufficient points to accommodate the returned purchase, any outstanding Star Money will be reduced by 1¢ per point. If all your points and Star Money are eliminated, we may reduce the value of your returned purchase by 1¢ per point.
    • We apologize for any frustration you may be having with your Macy's Star Rewards. We want to ensure you are receiving the full benefits of the program and want the opportunity to review and correct any issues or concerns you may be having.
    • If you feel that you have missing rewards, inaccurate rewards, or are unable to use rewards that are still valid please click to chat with a colleague or call Macy's Customer Service
    • Please verify your rewards balance has not been impacted by a return or is 30 days past the issue date. Customer service may need receipt and order numbers provided for a dispute.
    • Macy's cardholders earn on every purchase. Customers without a Macy's Card can enroll in the Bronze level in-store, online or through Macy's mobile app to begin earning points on every purchase plus unlock rewards.

    • Yes, you must make a Qualifying Purchase with your Macy's Credit Card to have the purchase count towards your status.
