Holiday Return Policy

We are happy that Macy's is your gift destination. We want you to love your gift or purchase, but if you are not completely satisfied, we will gladly accept most returns by mail or in stores within 30 days of purchase. For the holiday season, Macy's is extending our return acceptance timeframe. Effective on purchases starting October 7, 2024, most merchandise purchased at Macy's or macys.com will be accepted for return until Jan. 31, 2025.

We want you to love your purchase, but if you are not completely satisfied, we gladly accept most returns by mail or in-store within 30 days of purchase. See below for exceptions. Start a return here.

  • Store returns are free
  • Star Reward members receive free Return Shipping
  • Non-Star Reward members will be deducted a $9.99 Return Shipping fee plus tax, where applicable, from your refund. Sign up for Star Rewards here.

Return Conditions

Returned items must be in original, saleable condition with original tags. Shipping and delivery fees are non-refundable.

New or gently used cosmetic or fragrance products purchased at Macy's that do not meet your needs will be accepted for return.

  • Items purchased in a store must be returned to a store.
  • Items purchased online can be returned to a store or by initiating the return online
  • Items shipped and sold by sellers must be returned by initiating the return online.
