What is MasterCard SecureCode?

Macy's participates in MasterCard SecureCode to better protect your online shopping experience. MasterCard SecureCode is a program offered by MasterCard to cardholders in order to help prevent unauthorized use of MasterCards online.

If you or your bank are enrolled with MasterCard SecureCode, you might be asked to answer a security question to confirm your identity before you can complete your purchase with your MasterCard. If you have further questions about MasterCard SecureCode, please contact your bank for more information.

How MasterCard SecureCode works

There are two ways MasterCard SecureCode can work to protect your security:

If your challenge is successful when you select Submit, your order will be placed. If your challenge is unsuccessful, you'll be prompted to enter another form of payment (a different credit or debit card) before you can continue with your order.

Note: For the password prompt, you will need to enter the password you set up with the MasterCard SecureCode program.

What happens if you fail your challenge

  • If you or your bank are enrolled with MasterCard SecureCode, you might be asked to answer a security question to confirm your identity before you can complete an online purchase with your MasterCard
  • Or during Order Review, your bank may present you with a MasterCard SecureCode challenge

You can try entering another form of payment (a different credit or debit card).

If the alternate method of payment fails, contact the bank that issued your credit card for technical support.

Note: For security reasons, Macy's cannot offer you technical support regarding this challenge process.

Macy's doesn't store any information you send to your bank during this challenge process

Macy's doesn't receive or store any information you enter during the challenge process. This information is shared securely between you and your bank.
