Managing my Macys Online Account

Creating a macys.com account will enable you to easily update your information, pay your bill, view store events, receive special offers, and much more.


With an online account, you can:

  • Receive emails and texts about sales, promotions, offers, and events*.
  • Securely save shipping information (through Profile) and billing information (through Wallet) for a swift checkout.
  • Store your favorite items in Lists to let friends and family know exactly what's on your shopping list.
  • Get price alerts when products from your List go on sale.
  • Manage your subscriptions.


*To receive email offers, you must subscribe to promotional offers.



Setting up my Account
  • If you would like to create a macys.com account, go to our secure Create Account page and fill out all the information.

    If you started creating a macys.com account in store or by phone, complete the setup by following these steps:

    • For a link to activate your account, look for an email from Macy's entitled "Here's how to activate your account" or a text message from 38764.
    • Select the link in the email, then fill out and submit the online form. Your account will then be activated.

    If you haven't received a link via email or text from us, request another one on the "Create Account" page by entering your email address and selecting the "Activate Here" link.

  • You can add a credit card to your macys.com account with your account number, your name exactly as it appears on your card or statement, the card's security code, and the last four digits of your Social Security number. To add a Macy's Credit Card or Macy's American Express Card:

    1. Select My Account and sign in.
    2. Select the "Add My Card" button under the Macy's Credit Card section.
    3. Complete the form, then select "Add Card".
    4. Set up your security questions, then select "Next".
  • To add another Macy's Credit Card or Macy's American Express® Card to your macys.com profile, you will need to know your account number, your name exactly as it appears on your card or statement, the security code on your card and the last four digits of your social security number.

    1. Select " My Account " and log-in to your account with your email address and password.
    2. Click the "Macy's Credit Card" link in the left hand navigation.
    3. Select the "Add an Additional Card" link in the Manage Credit Card section.
    4. Here you can submit your information to add an additional card. Please be sure to enter your name exactly as it appears on your card or statement.

Managing my password and email address online
  • If you check the “Keep me signed in” box when you log in to your account, you’ll need to sign in much less often. You should only check the “Keep me signed in” box if you are on a personal device, like a private laptop or mobile phone.


    For your security, we'll still ask you to enter your password when:

    • You make any changes to your contact info or profile
    • You add or make changes to a shipping address
    • You add a or make changes to a credit card
    • You manually sign out of your account
    • You clear your browser cache and cookies
    • You use a different device, browser, or private browser
    • We observe any actions that could be fraudulent


    To turn off “Keep me signed in” and to sign out:

    1. Go to "My Account".
    2. Under Contact/Security select "Sign Out" from all devices.
    • Select "Sign In".
    • Input your email address and password.
    • Select the "Sign In" button.
    • Select the "My Account" link, then select "Profile".
    • In the Contact/Security section, select the "Edit" link located to the right of your current password.
    • Enter your current password and new password.
    • Select the "Save" button.
    • If opted in, you will receive a confirmation via email or text as notice of this change



    Please note: Password must be 7-16 characters and can include specials characters with the exception of (. , - | \ =) or spaces.

    • Select "Sign In"
    • Select the "Forgot Your Password?" link and enter the email address associated with your Macy’s account.
    • You’ll be sent an email with a password reset link and instructions. This link will expire within a few hours.
    • After you create a new password, it will be active immediately and can be used to sign in to your Macy’s account from any device.
    • If opted in, you will receive a confirmation via email or text as notice of this change.



  • Locking profiles is a precautionary security feature. Locking a profile means the profile is not accessible until a valid customer performs a password reset. We may lock your online profile for several reasons including suspicious activity on the login page or because the profile has not had activity in a while.



    If your online profile is locked, you can regain access to your online account by doing the following:

    • Click the hyperlink in the red banner that appears on the macys.com page; that will take you to the Password Reset email page.
    • Enter the email associated with your account and complete the "I am not a Robot" reCAPTCHA challenge.
    • An email containing a new hyperlink is sent to your login address.
    • Follow the link in the email and create a new password for your online account.



    If you have too many failed sign-in attempts to your online profile and it is locked, please directly call us at 1-800-BUY-MACYS (1-800-289-6229).

    • Select "Sign In".
    • Select "Follow This Link" and follow the on-screen instructions.
    • You will be sent a password reset link and instructions to the email address associated with your Macy’s account. The password link will expire within a few hours.
    • If you have a phone number associated with your Macy’s account, you’ll also receive a text message to reset your password.
    • After you create a new password, it will be active immediately and can be used to sign in to your Macy’s account from any device.
    • If opted in, you will receive a confirmation via email or text as notice of this change.
    • Try re-entering your email address.
    • Check your spam or junk mail folders in your email account.
    • Double check that the email address associated with your Macy's account is correct. It should match the email you used to request your new password.  You may want to try another email address that could have been used when you set up your profile.


    Please note:  Signing up for promotional emails or placing an order with us in the past does not necessarily mean that you have a Macy's profile.  For additional assistance contact Customer Service at 1-800-289-6229 (TTY: 711).

  • On your computer:

    • Select "Sign In".
    • Input your email address and password.
    • Select the "Sign In" button.
    • Select the "My Account" link, then select "Profile".
    • In the Contact/Security section, select the "Edit" link to the right of your current email.
    • Enter your new email address and current password.
    • Select the "Save" button.



    From your Macy's App:

    • From the Macy's App, select "My account" in the bottom right.
    • Under Account Information, select "Profile".
    • Under Contact/Security, select "Email".
    • From here you can input your new email address.
    • You will be asked to enter your password and select the "Save" button.


  • If this is the case, you must create a new profile with a new email address.  To create a new profile:

    • Go to our secure Create Account page.
    • Fill out the requested information and "submit".



    Please note: If you are unable to link your Macy's Credit Card to your new profile due to your card being linked to your old profile, contact Customer Service at 1-866-593-2543 (TTY: 711). Mon-Sun: 10AM-10PM ET.


  • At the bottom of all emails sent from Macy's, there is an unsubscribe link that you can access to stop receiving emails.


    You can also manage your email notifications online.


    On your computer:

    • On macys.com, sign in to your account and select the "Profile" option in the dropdown menu.
    • Under My Account, select "Preferences", then select "Notifications".
    • In the Email section, select the "Edit" link, then select the "No, thanks! I'm good for now" button.
    • Select the "Save" button.
    • You can also use this menu to subscribe to email notifications


    From your Macy's App:

    • On the Macy's App, sign in to your account and select the "My Account" in the bottom right.
    • Under Account Information, go to the "Communication Preferences" section.
    • Under Email Alerts, you can turn notification on or off by using the button.
    • If the button is dark and to the right it will be "On", if it is greyed out and to the left it is "Off"



    By Phone:

    • If you prefer to unsubscribe from Macy's emails by phone, contact us at 888-529-2254



    Please note: It can take 6-8 weeks before you stop receiving emails.


  • You can text any of the following words to 62297 to opt out of all future Promo Alert messages, or 31292 to opt out of all future Security Alert messages. Standard carrier rates apply.

    • STOP
    • END
    • QUIT
    • CANCEL
    • UNSUBSCRIBE


    Please note: These words are not case sensitive. You will receive a text confirming the opt out. You can also manage your text message notifications online.


    On your computer:

    • On macys.com, sign in to your account and select the "Profile" option in the dropdown menu
    • Under My Account, select "Preferences", then select "Notifications".
    • In the Text section, select the "Edit" link.
    • Provide your mobile number, then select the "Maybe Later. I'd Prefer Not To Receive Texts At This Time" button.
    • Select the "Save" button.
    • You can also use this menu to subscribe to various text message notifications.




    From your Macy's App:

    • On the Macy's App, sign in to your account and select "My Account" in the bottom right.
    • Under Account Information, go to the Communication Preferences section.
    • Under Texts, you can turn notification on or off by using the button.
    • If the button is dark and to the right it will be "On", if it is greyed out and to the left it is "Off"
    • You can also use this menu to subscribe to various text message notifications

What are Lists and how do they work?
  • There are many benefits to utilizing Lists when you have a Macy's account.

    • Keep Lists for as long as you want - they never expire
    • Share Lists with friends and family through email, Facebook or X (formerly known as Twitter).
    • Create Lists for all your events: birthdays, weddings, baby showers, back-to-school needs, holiday wish lists, and more.
    • Access your Lists from any device, anywhere.
    • Make your Lists searchable through our website, so friends and family can easily access it.
    • Mark items in a Top Picks List to keep a close eye on them.
    • Sort Lists by most recently added, price, top rated, or your top picks.
    • Manage, rename, and delete your Lists at any time.
    • Receive price alerts when your listed items go on sale.


  • From your computer:

    • Click here to sign into your account or from Macys.com select "Sign in" in the top right of the homepage.
    • Select "Lists" from the dropdown menu.


    From your Macy's App:

    • Select "Favorites" from the bottom menu on the homepage.
    • Select "Lists"



    If you don't have a Macy's account, you can create a guest List. These only last for 30 days on the device you used to create them. To save lists longer than 30 days, be sure to create an account.


  • Select the "Add to List" button on any product page.

    -or-

    Select the "Move to List" link in your Shopping Bag to move the item from your Bag to one of your Lists.


  • In order to share your Lists with others, you MUST have a Macy's account. Sign in or create an account to get started.


    From your computer:

    • Choose the List you want to share.
    • Select the "Settings" link.
    • Select the "Make This List Searchable" box, then select the "Save" button.
    • Select the "email" icon on the top right side.
    • Enter email addresses of friends and/or family and select the "Email This List" button, or copy the link provided to send an email from your personal account.
    • You can also share your list by selecting the "Facebook" or "X (formerly known as Twitter)" icons.



    From your Macy's App:

    • Choose the List you want to share.
    • Select the "Ellipses (...)" on the top right.
    • Select "Share List" on the top right side.
    • Select which app you would like to share on such as, Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), email, text or more.



    • Click here to locate someone's list
    • You will be asked to enter their First name, Last name and State (optional)
    • Select "Search"


What are Subscriptions and how do they work?


Macy's offers two type of Subscription service, Auto Replenish and Beauty Box. You MUST have a Macy's Account to participate in either program. Once enrolled in a Subscription services you will be able to manage it by signing into your account. Subscriptions must be managed from a computer. It cannot be accessed in the Macy's Mobile App.

  • From your computer "sign-in" to your account in the top right of macys.com.
  • From the drop-down select "Subscriptions"
  • You can also click on "My Account" from the drop-down, then scroll down to the "Subscriptions" section or you can select "Subscriptions" from the menu on the left.
  • Our Auto Replenish Subscription is a convenient way to get the items that you use on a regular basis. By selecting Auto Replenish when you purchase a product, you will receive your items automatically and as often as you choose. Need it once a month? Every other month? You pick the frequency and Macy’s will deliver your products on your set schedule. Auto Replenish orders will be delivered automatically until you cancel your subscription. You can cancel or change your subscription any time.
