How to Dispute or Report a Fraudulent Charge
For My Macy's Credit Card Account


From your Computer:

  • Select My Account and log in to your account with your email address and password.
  • Select "Macy's Credit Card".
  • Under the "Manage Credit Card", "Account Services" section, select "Dispute a Charge".
  • Review account activity, select the unauthorized transaction(s), follow the prompts, and submit
  • A status email will be sent when the dispute is complete
  • Please allow at least 6 weeks for a resolution.
    • Note: Your Macy's Credit Card or your Macy's American Express® Card will need to be linked to your online profile.




By Phone:

  • Report any suspicious or fraudulent activity on your Macy's account right away by calling us at 1-866-282-8977 (TTY: 711). We are open 7 days per week, 9am to 12am ET.




After you report the activity, allow up to 2-3 billing cycles for us to complete our investigation. We will contact you if additional information is needed.

  • If you are asked to send additional information for suspected fraud, please email us [email protected].
  • If you are asked to send additional information for a disputed item on your bill, please email us [email protected].





For My Macy's Gift Card
  • If you believe the balance of your Macy's Gift Card is incorrect, we are happy to help. Please call the number on the back of your gift card or 1-800-203-3481 for further assistance. Our gift card department is available 7 days per week, 9 AM to 12 AM ET.
    We ask that you have the gift card and valid proof of purchase available when calling.

  • Note: If you are inquiring about a promotional gift card that has an expiration date, Macy's Money or if you have not received a Happy Returns Card from an online or store order return please call 1-800-289-6229.
